No! Applications for summer camps (both CTC & CAP) are processed at the Regional Level. The squadron is responsible for collecting and submitting applications, and then distributing the selections made at the Regional Level. Simply put, you will hear back at a later date (typically end of April or beginning of May) as to whether or not you will have a spot.
Yes! All transportation to and from CTCs, whether in region or out of region, is organized by RCSU
Typically, no. There are only a limited number of spots for summer camps, and therefore spots are usually given to cadets who meet all of the requirements. Situations like this are typically handled on a case-by-case basis. Reach out the the squadron if this is a concern of yours.
No. Selections happen on the regional level and not the squadron level.
A packing list will be included with your joining instructions.
Applications are processed based on the recommendation of the squadron, and through evaluation of a cadet's personal file (e.g. attendance, level, rank, awards, qualifications, previous CTCs, etc).
Unfortunately, this question can not be answered. The demand for any specific course varies from year to year, and as such it is impossible for squadrons to predict how likely any specific cadet is to be accepted to any specific camp.
Even if your application does not get approved in the initial round of applications (typically end of April or beginning of May), there is still a chance for you to be offered a spot later on due to someone else cancelling their offer. It has happened in the past that cadets receive an Offer of Participation the day before camp starts.
A good first step is to talk to other cadets at the squadron who have attended camps to gain an understanding of their experiences!
If you would like to find out more, reach out to the squadron and we will do our best to help!
